Planting the Garden

We (ok, really I just watched) planted the garden this weekend. If you ask Chase he thinks we were putting out seeds for the birds and he may be right! Hopefully something will grow. We planted corn, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers and watermelon and left a little room to start a pumpkin patch in the next month or so.

Maymont

We took a trip to Maymont today to see the farm animals and have a picnic. We met up with Chase's good buddy "a-lub", a.k.a. Kaleb, and his mom, sister and aunt. Chase gets the giggles everytime he sees Kaleb. The boys all have so much fun together. The old blind goat with vertigo...no kidding...made an awful sound and Chase about jumped out of his skin. He took Bryce's seat in the stroller until we made it past the goats. As you can tell, Bryce was happy to get out!
Taylor is doing so well sitting up that I left her on her own to get a picture of the three of them having a picnic, and well..... ... she didn't quite make it! This is how she ended up before I could get back to her. She kind of looks mad at me, but don't worry - no injuries! My camera has a setting where it will automatically take a picture when it detects a smile and these are the two smiles I captured this afternoon while playing around with it!

And finally, all of the trees and bushes are so pretty around here right now but I know it won't last long so I tried to get a few pictures outside today.

Blue Eyes & Giggles

Here's a good picture showing Taylor's still-blue eyes and her love of food. We would have guessed her eyes would have changed colors by now, but who knows what they will do! She has been enjoying some nightly cereal for a few weeks now and she usually ends up with more on the outside than on the inside!

Below is a video of Taylor giggling at Chase. She laughs at him all the time and this was not the best, but it's the best we've gotten on video so far! Her squeals can reach a painful pitch!

The Circus

We took Chase to the circus for the first time on Saturday. He managed to make it through the whole show even though he got antsy a few times. The animals were definitely more exciting to him than the clowns or acrobats. Here he is checking out the preshow acrobats. He was thinking about clapping, but not exactly sure what was going on yet! In his seat and ready for the show!
Chase's favorite part.
And, the car ride home!

Here's a video of Chase dancing to the music before the circus started.
Sorry it's sideways and I can't quite get it flipped around yet....

Happy Easter!

Easter Egg Hunt #1 at church.
Helping Kaleb fill his basket...way more fun that filling his own!
Taylor monitoring the situation and hoping for some good candy!

Easter Egg hunting gets competitive! I'm sure he wasn't snatching an egg from this kid, but I can honestly say I had no idea it was even close.
Elmo got so tired his ears flopped!
Checking out the goods! Yes, melted chocolate was EVERYWHERE!
Easter Egg Hunt #2 at my grandparents house!
Taylor enjoyed it!
Elmo tried to perk his ears up for hunt #2, but he was worn out!
Chase insisted on toting his own basket the whole time - even if eggs were falling out as he was bending over to put another one in!
Playing catch with his cousin Hannah. She was trying to teach him to cup his hands.
He just giggled at her.
Taylor and her daddy showing off her prize rabbit, pink of course!

5 Months & Chicks

Happy 5 months to Taylor! Time is flying, she will be running around in the backyard in no time. She has a hard time sitting and watching - you can tell she's ready to move.

Chase is quite the helper these days and well, Taylor is just a good sport! He would not in a million years let her do this to him, but as long as she doesn't know that we'll let him "help."Chase and Bryce wandered back in the bedroom yesterday and I heard them both saying "stuck, stuck" and sure enough they were both wedged in the iron gym and couldn't get out! For some reason they think it is a boat and love playing with it. And yes, they had to get their picture taken before I helped them out!
Yesterday my mom stopped by to show Chase "something special" on her way home from work. If you know my mom, you know it was something living. Sure enough she had 6 baby chicks. Luckily they are not an Easter gift! Chase liked them from a distance. He did touch one on the head for a quick second, but that was enough! Taylor will touch anything and would have eaten it if given the chance!
Counting the "shicks," as he said.
