Happy Halloween

We took the kids up to church for trunk-or-treat tonight. This is Chase with PaPa, if Max didn't give it away. (Who takes their dog trick-or-treating??) It was a ton of fun, but I didn't do so great taking pictures. I only have a few to show for it.
Taylor collecting her loot at Grandma and Vickie's house before we headed to church.

Chase with Karen the Christmas Tree.

Smart kids. Going for the stash!

At the pumpking patch.
Chase ready to scoop.

Taylor helping out. It was clearly past her bedtime at this point.

Weekend Guests

Dave's sisters, Kerry and Megan, and Carl, boyfriend of Megan came for a visit this past weekend. (See Megan, bringing a guy here is serious business. It is now forever recorded in blogland.) We took them straight off the plane to pick apples. They were very confused as to why were going to drive an hour just to get apples, but once we got there it all made sense.
First stop: donuts!

Kerry is practically a walking apple-picker herself.
She could reach all the apples that everyone else had left behind because they were too high!

Megan taking a stab at it.
Trust me, the way she shoved that thing in there, the apples didn't stand a chance!

Chase taking a taste-test.

Taylor keeping up with Chase.

One of very few pictures with them both in it.

Tourists.

Next, since Taylor's birthday is only a couple of weeks away we decided to celebrate early with the aunties in town.
She is 1!

The birthday princess.
Notice the hair contraption, first time ever and probably last.
She didn't care for it too much!

She nearly lost a finger or two while I was trying to help her blow out the lone candle.

Yum!
And she was up until 1am still throwing a party, so probably no more cake on her real birthday!

Yeah, he's really not much of a babysitter yet.

A little bit better.
Then for Monday, a trip to Maymont.

Taylor is afraid of goats about like she was fire on her birthday cake. Not much.

Apparently Kerry thought this was funny.

Not a great pic, right, but look how Taylor and the goat have the same pose and expression.

The kids were looking at something more interesting than the camera!

I tend to put Chase in the "Mr. Happy" shirt on days when he needs a little extra motivation. You can see that at this moment it wasn't quite working!

I don't remember what was going on in this picture, but it cracks me up.

Rock climbing at the park.

Kerry and Megan were more excited than the boys to swing. And you can see the poor boys got there last because they got stuck in the swings they can't even see out of.
Thanks girls :)
It was a fun weekend.

Children's Museum

Anxiously waiting to leave. Children's places should open at 7am. Seriously, that's when kids are awake and happy. By the time you get there they are hungry and then you feed them and they are tired and ready to go. We lasted about 2 1/2 hours though, pretty good!

And on a different note....

Taylor has 3 teeth now. One on the bottom in the middle and these two side ones on the top. They're hard to see but this is the best she will show us. She will look just like a jack-o-lantern by Halloween.!
