Bubbles to Buddies to Basketball

Bubbles always make things more fun.  Chase was digging the beard....
but not too crazy about the moustache!
 Taylor didn't care for either.
There was plenty of dressing up this week.  We'll just pretend Chase couldn't find his costume collection!
Taylor found some boots, but apparently lost her pants in the process.
Good buddies - they are going to miss hanging out together when Bryce is home with is baby sister for the next couple of months!
The weather was excellent this week.  We had 2 picnics - not bad for January!
Chase has a love of putting things in a line recently.  I'd love to know what they were talking about here.
Taylor is probably plotting out how to destroy that line of balls!
We got an unexpected visit from some out-of-town friends this week.  Taylor has a blast playing with Zoey.
The most kids the chair has had to hold yet!  Best chair ever.
Operation Valentine card is in full swing!  I outsmarted the glitter this year by getting glitter glue.  Good thing we started early because it will take that long for the glue to dry!
Chase takes it pretty seriously and pre-plans who each card is for.
Taylor looks as though she is about to get in trouble with the glue.  It's possible.
Speaking of Taylor, she makes the craziest faces.  The crazier the face, the more love she is trying to show.  Weird, I know, but very true and very Taylor.
These pictures do not do the face justice.
We may keep this one to scare away any potential dates in the future. (And then again, she might just scare them off herself!)
The boys have been sporting their basketball uniforms this week and playing ball all day long.  They were most excited to get to wear them outside today.  I took some pictures but those will have to be for another time! Taylor substituted rainboots for a uniform - it works.

Random Things

I took about 12 of the most random pictures this week.
Here are the only 5 half way worth sharing...
Chase finally gave up waiting for the bus.  Unfortunately, he decided to wait for snow.  That's not going to happen either.  So then he decided we should get the pool out.  Makes sense if it's not cold enough for snow, right? So, we decided to dream a little - I gave them a preview tour of the pool at our hotel near Disney World.  They are ready to go, like now, please.  They sat here watching long enough to at least forget about waiting for snow, pools, or buses.
Chase has not taken a nap in weeks. (Cry)  He's made the most of his extra playtime though.  We've started exercising together.  Sadly, we use the same weights.
Kids love Max.  Notice Max was not smiling for the picture.
A moment of sibling love that turned south right as I got the camera out.
Chase has been watching some of the younger kids play Upward basketball at our church recently.  He was jealous of their jerseys and he wanted to be on a real team too.  We found some lovely Air Jordan attire this weekend and he picked out one for him and one for Bryce so they can be a team too!

Children's Museum

Despite the fish feeding fiasco earlier in the week, we finally made it to the Children's Museum on Friday.  Unfortunately so did about half of the kids in the metro Richmond area.  It was busy, but they still had fun!
This picture scares me.  Fast-forward about 13 years and I can see this happening for real.
Had we made it to the museum on our first try, the weather would have been great for the outside area.  Friday was the coldest day so far this winter.  Anywho, outside we went.  I will say it wasn't crowded out there (for good reason).
The boys were trying to decide what would be fun about milking a cow.  They decided to pass.
The art studio is always a hit.
Chase teaching them letters and numbers.  He is a pro now that he has been to preschool.
 Trying to get some money!
Good luck trying to get this money from her!
 Dr. Chase
 Apple picking.
Good to know that even though these two can get in plenty of trouble together they are always best of buddies and stick together!
After the museum we made a quick stop by Dave's office for a snack since we were so close.
Taylor loves the desk.

Taylor was also liking getting her picture taken today.  First, she wanted a picture of her hairbows before we left for church.  This afternoon she wanted to show off her new snowboots.  The kids are now waiting for snow and the school bus.  If either of them could come soon, that would be great!!

Preschool

We took Chase on his first preschool visit last night.  He was so excited all day long.  He thought he was going to get to stay and play.  He would like to start tomorrow!  He can't wait to go to school.
Unfortunately, he thinks the bus is going to pick him up any minute now.  He waited by the door most of yesterday looking for his bus.  Taylor - complete with Super-Grover underwear - kept him company.  He actually cried when the bus passed our house without stopping.  He asked when it was going to pick him up and I had to tell him in about 2 years.  He's still waiting.
Here's the main reason I think preschool will be a good idea.  He needs something to keep him out of trouble!  This fish food jar was about 1/2 full prior to Chase and Bryce deciding on their own that the fish were hungry.  Not sure exactly how it happened but they both said that they did it together!
They were not the least bit regretful of their decision.  We did miss our trip to the Children's Museum that day because of it, but even that was not enough to make them sad.  Luckily, the fish have survived.

A Final Dose of Christmas

Chase has added to his band.  Taylor is welcome (most of the time) to join in.  They stayed busy practicing while they were waiting for their company to arrive last week.

Finally Grandma and Grandpa Edwards were spotted coming up the road.
Of course, there were more Christmas presents.

Luckily, the doll house was actually a doll house this time so we were able to find a place to put it!  Christmas has definitely filled up any extra space we had.

Chase playing with his new train track.
The weather has been most cooperative, so there was time to play outside!
After lunch Sunday, I caught Taylor sitting in Chase's lap and ran for my camera.  Of course that moment was over before I got back.  Bryce was willing to recreate the scene for me, Chase was not!
Back at home playing games with Grandma.
Monday brought the most often requested trip to Chuck E. Cheese. Always a good time.

It was all fun and games until Taylor realized that inserting the token would actually make the machine move!

The kid-size basketball hoop was the biggest attraction.  Chase dribbles a basketball for what seems like 20 out of 24 hours a day.

 Taylor hit the jackpot.
 Showing off the loot.
Dave taught Grandma how to play games on the iphone.  She probably has already gone out to get her own since she's been home.
Chase wondering if he'll ever get another turn!  It doesn't get better than a week of presents, Chuck E. Cheese, and Angry Birds.  Finally back to the real world next week!
