The Summer Fun Continues

After vacation, I decided the kids had had enough fun.  It was time to do some work.
That lasted about 10 minutes until we all decided that, well, fun is just more fun than work!
 We've been bowling.
 Hiking
 Putt-putt, again.

Swimming at the pool.  This was Dave showing Chase how to dive.
 Chase tried!
 Hitting baseballs.
This is a random picture of what I thought was a pinecone that I was about to pick up.  I did not touch it once it moved!! Ick.
Taylor finnnnnaaallly got to take her long-awaited trip to the children's museum.
It was everything she hoped for.
Chase might be getting a little big for the place!
But he played along well.  Kaleb was embarrassed to even be seen there!
In the ant farm.  We would have loved to be able to hear the conversation that went on in there.
The time finally came to say goodbye to the trusty ol' minivan.  Taking it for one last "ride".
Its replacement.  Sadly, it wasn't missed for long!
The kids give the new ride 2 thumbs waaaay up!
There's been a little shopping.  This girl is too much for me.
Megan, Kerry and Julie were telling me on vacation about all of their favorite recipes from skinnymom.com.  I tried out the Pulled Pork Stuffed Sweet Potatoes - it was worthy of a picture and a share!  Never would have thought to put the two together!
A little Cracker Barrel breakfast.
More putt-putt.  This time a hole-in-one for Taylor....miraculously!
Chase just trying to keep up with her!
We made a final summer trek to the beach this past weekend.  (Still have plans for October!)  Taylor is all about the snacks at the beach.
And when she's not eating, she's trying to aggravate her brother!
He is unfazed.  What a life!
A little beach football.

Victory dance!  Two more weeks to squeeze in some summer fun!  The cleaning can wait until school starts and I'm bored and don't know what to do with myself!

Destin

We made the trip to Destin for a week at the beach with the Caddells. I'd been looking forward to it because I love Gulf beaches.  Dave was not fond of the idea of travelling so far to get to "basically a lake" - well, just know that my week was made on day 2 when he had to admit that "it was actually pretty perfect"!  You can beat the calm, clear water and white sand!
Taylor was with me - she was ready to go!
 She's also part crazy.
Best thing about packing for a beach vacation by plane is you don't take much stuff.  It was great!  We were each able to carry our own stuff!
 Getting there...
 Closer.
 Finally arrived!
 Beach perfection!
This was obviously too early for a photo for Taylor!
The twins were reunited.  This totally happened by accident.  Even the same.brand.of.shorts.  Too much.

This picture was taken from my chair by the water.  Can't beat a restaurant within arms reach!  And more than half the people in this picture were with our beach group.  It was a crowd!
 Out with the girls.
Andy and Chase ahead of Dave and Taylor, but not for long!

See Megan taking pictures....still waiting for hers!  I totally forgot my camera and don't trust myself with my phone near the ocean much so I'm waiting for her official photo album!
 Riding Carl the bull.

I made an early morning trek to a place I'd spotted on the way in.  It looked super promising.  It was a bust. Oh well, always worth a shot!
 Putt-putt, of course.

 Bonus arcade by putt-putt.

Bigger bonus - people that will play the games and give you their tickets!
Out for a fancy night on the town - right up Taylor's alley!

Kids: "Hey Grandpa, look at this."
 Grandpa: "How much?"

Taylor wanted a picture with the parrots and when the guy tried to put one on her head she bailed!  Understandably!

Vacation, obviously, will wear you out!  This was 9am!
 Beach bum.
 Beach bum 2.

 Megan with the selfie-stick.
Farewell Destin - I think Dave liked you enough that I might be able to get him back there soon!
 Headed home!
