Crawling!

Not to be outdone by his new cousin, Chase decided to start crawling today so he could win back his top spot on the blog!

Cousin Bryce

Cousin Bryce made his big appearance yesterday afternoon. He weighed 7lbs 10oz and was 21inches long. He is doing well and Chase can't wait to meet him!

Trouble...

So Chase has quickly discovered what trouble is...and he finds it quite often! The plants are all a little shorter and more stuff than usual finds its way to the floor. He is terribly frustrated that he can't quite move on his own yet. He can run with a little help, but crawling is not his thing. He wants to walk 24/7 and when you try to make him sit down he locks his legs so he can't be bent into a sitting position. So he ends up staring at the ceiling, which makes him REALLY mad! (see picture)We went to the doctor today for the 9 month checkup. 20 1/2 lbs and 27 1/2 inches tall. Average for weight, but short....which equates to round and chunky! He is quite solid but according to the doctor, doing great. I let him take a couple licks of the lollipop from the doctor's office as we were leaving, he tried to inhale it. His poor tongue couldn't move fast enough.

If all goes according to plans, cousin Bryce will be here tomorrow (I hope for Grace's sake he comes out soon!)

The Pizza Incident

Over the weekend we ordered pizza from LaRosa's. Andy went to pick it up but when he got back with it he didn't have time to eat any because he had to go pick up Miranda. Well he made it clear to us not to eat it all because he wanted some when he got back. For anyone who knows Andy, you know he stood there reminding us not to eat it much longer than it would have actually taken him to eat half a pizza. So, while he was gone Dave and Jeff decide to hide the pizza except for one really small piece and one partially eaten piece. Again, for those of you who know Dave and Jeff and what they do to Andy, he should have seen that one coming, but no. So watch the video. It might be one of those "had to be there" funny moments, but we thought it was hilarious. Dave still laughs just thinking about it. Thanks Andy, you're always good for a laugh!

Cincinnati Visit

So, these pictures are actually from the plane ride home. It would appear that we have a little traveling angel....hmmm, I'm not so sure about that one. He fell asleep literally 3 mintues before the plane landed and was giving kisses probably because he was happy to get off the plane?! I wouldn't say that going out of town is one of Chase's strongest talents, but nonetheless we had a nice trip to visit family in Cincinnati this past weekend. I tried to do better about taking pictures this time, but as you'll notice I still managed to miss a few people, sorry! Like for everything else I do, I'll have to make a list next time to make sure we catch them all.

This is Chase with his cousins Jacob and Ben. He loved watching them play and even managed to convince Grandpa to go to the store and buy him a truck just like Ben's. Yeah, I don't know how a 9 month old who can't talk convinces someone to do anything, but I think it has something to do with the nature of grandparents. Chase with his Aunt Glenna
Chase with Dave, Grandma and Grandpa. Chase with Mrs. Shoemaker...I think she is trying to teach him the pythagorean theorem. She tried to teach me for years, hopefully she has better luck with him.

Dave and CharlesChase & Grandma Julie checking out the menu at Skyline. He settled on a baked potato and crackers - not quite ready for the chili just yet.
Chase & Aunt Kerry
Chase & Aunt Megan
Chase giving Megan kisses. Now that he has 1/2 a tooth, we've realized that kisses are soon going to be a problem! He goes at you with his mouth wide open.
Chase and Uncle Andy This is proof that Uncle Andy may never babysit without supervision....I'm not sure this is what the toy is designed to do, but I guess it works. He had fun for a minute even though he looks terrified in this picture!

Chase & Max

Today was the first time Chase and Max have enjoyed playing together. Usually Max likes to bite anything and everything in sight so we have to keep them separated. Of course, Max is a perfect puppy (and the best Christmas gift ever, right mom & dad?!?!) so he has quickly learned how to get along!

Mini me and new mini chair

So, it just keeps getting better. This weekend we got (with permission) a new mini-recliner from church. Too funny.

Virginia Snow

So, I made the poor child go outside this morning to take a look at his first snow. (Yes, there was a little last week, but somehow we didn't make it out of the house early enough for him to see it!) There's not much snow out there, but probably more than we'll see for a while. He couldn't keep himself sitting up in the snowsuit and he didn't care for the mittens, so it was a short trip.

Mini me and Superbowl

So now they REALLY look alike. I found this matching shirt a while back but it's a size 2T, so it has been hanging in the closet. When Dave had his on the other night I decided to put Chase's on for a picture. It wasn't quite as large on him as you would think!!

Here's Chase taking his pregame nap and then sporting his football attire. The shoes are a loaner from his soon-to-be-born cousin. I don't think he'll be needing them for a while, but its nice that he shops early and lets us borrow! We hope to meet HIM soon. He has a name, but I'm not going to be the first to let it out. That one is for his own blog.
