Ready for A Sister!

I went to the doctor this morning and we've made some progress. I've dilated 2 cm and the baby is about as low as she can go - this I know all too well! It could now be any minute instead of just any day! I think we are all ready. Unfortunately, we also found out that because of this lovely flu season the hospital has put in place a very strict visitor policy. No one under 18 at all - so probably no brother/sister pictures until we get home :( and also they are only allowing 2 visitors per patient at a time and Dave will count as a visitor :( Oh well, it's understandable just no fun! As you can see, Chase has already prepared for his sister the perfect gift and thanks to Bryce he has been practicing his caretaking skills!

Pumpkin Picking and Carving

Picking out the perfect pumpkin...
Carving the pumpkin...
Chase was not interested in sticking his hand in there at all, as you'll see.

The finished product...
The eyes were better until someone got a little carried away with the knife!? At least you can still see the "Chase" teeth.
Trying to smile like his pumpkin.

Baby Update

I had a doctor's appointment this morning and she said the baby could come any day now! Of course, it could also still be a few weeks - who knows! But the baby is in the right position and I've started to dilate a little, so we're thinking sooner rather than later. The picture is totally random - I was going to take a new picture to post, but the camera battery was dead....a good reminder that now would be a good time to charge it up! Chase's official "big brother" shirt came in the mail today - finally - so maybe it's a sign, we'll see!

Fish, a Lion and Lunch

A random selection of pictures, I know.....but these are a few of Chase's favorite things to do recently. He got a new fish lamp in the mail this week from, who else, grandparents! He loves to sit and watch it. He will point down the hall and say "feeeesh" and then run to his room and check on them often as if they are real . Don't tell him and we may remain pet-free for quite a while! We put Chase in his halloween costume to try to get a few pictures yesterday evening. We had a hard time capturing just the right lion "grrr" or his new favorite "teeth" pose, but these are the best we could do for now. I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with the PBS Sprout channel, but Chase is a big fan so we sent his picture in for the costume contest and if it happens to get shown with Chica one day he just may pass out in the floor! It would be huge. And finally, lunch. A favorite part of the day - no surprise! This particular day he was very much into his sandwich and I thought it was kind of funny.

Apple Picking

My college roommate, Melinda, came to visit for the weekend so we took her apple picking with us on Saturday. It was crowded and I thought they might have to drag me back up the hill a time or two, but we had a really good time. Chase took bites of many, many apples and of course enjoyed the apple donuts too! And thanks to Melinda, we actually have a couple of pictures with all 3, I mean 4, of us in them!

Here's a nice side-shot of the baby girl at 35 weeks - just for you, Heather. I'm not sure having Melinda in the picture helps to minimize any of the roundness! It's hard to believe we only have a few weeks to go!
