You would think that since I didn't leave the house until 2pm yesterday that it couldn't have been but so exciting but it turned out rather unusual! First off, when Taylor and I got to school to pick Chase up, Dave was already there. He just happened to be going from court to the office at just the right time so he stopped by.
Chase was thrilled to see us all there because he had a big announcement. He got a "7". The behavior chart tops out at "6". You would have thought he won the lottery. This is one area where his competitiveness is fantastic! Dave immediately promised a trip to Menchies after dinner.
After school I took the kids to their dentist appointments. They were not happy to be there until they found Austin & Ally on in the waiting room. We only waited 2 minutes! We kind of have a frequent flyer card at the dentist and they know us a little too well. I wasn't optimistic about the visit.
Taylor could not stop this silly smile. She did great and NO CAVITITES! I about fell in the floor.
Chase did great too and NO CAVITIES!!! Then I really did fall in the floor. Just kidding. That's where the good news stops! Apparently my kids have a thing for showing up with other illnesses at the dentist's office. The dentist asked if Chase had pink eye. The thought had crossed my mind. His eyes were red but he also had a cold and said that they weren't bothering him. So we bid farewell to the dentist office and told them not to miss us too much since we won't be back for 6 whole months!
Then it was off to KidMed. The Mechanicsville location opened just a week ago. We just couldn't wait to try it out! I would have just waited until this morning but I thought there might be a chance it was nothing and he could go to school and also if it was something then I wanted to get him medicine asap so he could get back to school. He is obviously in rough shape!
They had tvs with directv and your own remote, a comfortable bed and popsicles. He was living the dream. It was a short wait and then a 10 second look and diagnosis of pink eye. Then we were off to the pharmacy, and then another pharmacy that wasn't out of the eye drops and by this time it was 8:35. (Dave & Taylor stayed home.) Remember that trip to Menchie's.....so does Chase. We got some Menchie's and then home just in time for the NCAA National Championship. Chase was super pumped that he picked the right night to be able to stay up late since he wasn't going to school today!
Skipping school has never been more fun. He got to take Taylor to school for the first time ever and then we went on a date to Kroger (claw machine included...he did get a "7"!) then Tropical Smoothie and a Bojangles lunch. I quickly realized how much of an easier grocery shopper Taylor is! Chase had about 18 extra things in the cart and he asked 1.3 million questions. Never a dull moment though! His eyes are looking better though and it's back to school tomorrow!
Back to the typical around here - Soccer on Saturday. Chase's team lost about 13 - 3 but Chase can claim all 3 of their goals. He was ok with the loss on that account!
There has been lots of swinging.
Taylor came home from school last week and had learned to pump her legs and swing unassisted.
Chase was totally outdone with the situation and stayed on the swing until he had figured it out too. They were back to even before dark!
Grandpa Hoeh's funeral was in Cincinnati last Wednesday. That morning the kids came down dressed in these outfits all on their own. Too fitting!
We had kindergarten parent lunch last week. This is Chase with his good buddy Skye.
I was supposed to go to Chase's class today to do a recycling lesson but obviously that didn't happen. Planning to go later in the week if all eyes stay clear! I decided to make recycled crayons to take in to the kids. Peeling paper off crayons takes FOREVER!
But in the end it was almost worth it! I realize that putting each egg in a plastic bag defeats the whole "recycling" theme but who wants crayon all over a backpack? They will have to reuse the bag too!
Taylor's spring pictures from school!
Perfect picture of her personality.
She was so proud of her outfit. Girl loves a camera! (MEGAN? KERRY?)
And here's her class. Sweet row of girls and a handful of boys!!
My hands are tired of typing so you're probably tired of reading!
