Weekend Company

Grandpa & Grandma Caddell and Kerry came to town last weekend.  Despite our best efforts to keep her here, they took Kerry back home with them.
While they were here we took a day trip to Monticello.  Don't the kids look thrilled!  They had more fun than it might appear.
This is why we need Kerry to stay here.  Taylor is her perfect little sidekick.
 My picture of the kids.
 Their picture of me.
Taylor got some "noculars" from the gift shop.
 Showing off his muscles.
Classic expressions.  I did let Chase miss half a day of school on Monday to make up for all the learning that he had to do on Sunday!

Dave and his good buddy T.J.
 Nerd.  That is all.

The day after our company left Taylor said to me at least five times before noon - "You just keep making my day worser and worser."  I told her I wasn't sure which of us missed Kerry more!  Happy Taylor = Happy Mama!

Taking some selfies on the ride home.
These were two of about 25!
One of my highlights of the weekend was that they showed up with a pinterest board full of recipe ideas.  We picked a selection of dips and desserts and made a trip to Kroger and then grandma got to work!  I am still full a week later!
Luckily, along with the food comes exercise!  I went for a jog with Kerry while the kids were at school on Monday and while I'm huffing and puffing along she looks like a gazelle leaping calmly across a field!  She did help me set some new personal records though, and  yes, I am still sore!
 Checking out baseball practice.
Come back Kerry!  P.S.  Megan was hoping to come along on this trip and we missed her much.  She said it was because she couldn't get off work but for anyone who knows her, I'm pretty sure it's because she was too busy getting ready for the puppies first birthday party?!?! ;)
P.P.S. The trip is much better photo documented when Megan comes along!!

On the Move

Spring sport season is in full swing.
Baseball has some serious practices.  We somehow managed 4 practices in 6 days.
The best spectator.  She even took pom-poms to cheer him on at practice.
We finally made it to Jumpology with Bryce and Emmy to check out the ninja warrior course.
This was as far as he made it.  The basketball hoop was much more his speed.
Taylor showing off her warrior skills.
Dressed in their St. Patrick's Day green attire.
Taylor realized she didn't have any spring shoes that matched her outfit.  She asked to go shopping.  I took her and then saw her doing this in front of the mirror checking out the new options.  Where does she get this from?!?!
She is loving soccer.  Unfortunately both games so far have been "rained" out due to wet fields.  We were thankful for that today since it was freezing cold and windy!
She also loves posing for pictures on the field almost as much as she likes actually playing!

Taylor's spring school picture.
She picked this outfit all by herself.

Spring Sprung

Thank goodness this is the last snow picture left to be found!! Now that we've had a taste of spring we're ready for the heat.
Vickie celebrated the big 6-0 last week.
The room they put is in was a tad chilly.  Chase was warming his backside by the space heater.
The family.
A birthday serenade.
Taylor and Emmy had just gotten these Elsa hats and the boys were having the most fun with them.
Looks like Bryce learned to wear a wig from Jason - he is working it!
Decked out for the birthday dinner.  I told Taylor the shoes didn't match and she said, " They do match.  This is a fancy dress.  These are my fancy shoes.  They match." Ok.
Celebrating Dr. Seuss day at school with green eggs.
Taylor is playing soccer this spring.  This is her picking up her jersey and getting her first pink soccer ball.  I guess she decided to keep the change too!
Chase is playing baseball.  He got a new bat and decided to try it out.  It must work because he knocked the cover off of the ball.  I'm fairly confident the cul-de-sac is not the best baseball field anymore.  Only a matter of time before we're fixing something.
Ready for the first practice.  Fashion is a battle. This picture doesn't do the outfit justice.
Chase has been "coaching" her.  The first practice went pretty well.  She's got quite the kick, she just doesn't always come in contact with the ball.  She could well kick someone in the nose though.
We got to babysit Cheyenne for the first time this week.  Taylor was quite the pro.
And Cheyenne was a good sport.
Taylor even changed diapers.  She had to invite Emmy over to be assistant babysitter.
Cheyenne even let Taylor put a baby doll hat on her.
I wouldn't let her try to put the dress on!
Chase got to help out a little but as you can tell, he was more interested in tv!

Fashion battle:  shirt or nightgown.  "I don't care.  It's a shirt to me."
Taylor's preschool class "read" 100 books so they got to have an ice cream party.
The girls had a field trip to the circus this morning.  Chase and Bryce have no interest in going so it made it easy to go while they were busy at school.
Figured I'd better take one last picture of the elephants.  Chase and Taylor will be able to tell their kids how they used to have elephants at the circus and have a picture to prove it!
