The Weekend

The weekend started out with an early soccer game.  Taylor's team opted not to participate in pictures (I know!) so we had to do an impromptu soccer photo op!

Chase getting her warmed up. If she was half as aggressive with the girls as she is with Chase then she would dominate!!
Looks like she's trying to negotiate the post-game Kona Ice trip.
We had a baseball game after soccer and it was HOT!  I guess it was too hot to take pictures?!  After baseball we went to the pool.  Apparently there was a mix-up about when the pool really opened.  Not Saturday.  The kids weren't taking no for an answer so we ended up swimming inside.
Two little fish.
Later that evening it was back outside to check out the Wubble Balls.
 Good times.
Sunday was the final race of the series.
 Taylor's race.
She came up with a 3rd place finish which gave her enough points to finish out the series on top.  She was pumped.
Chase's race.  He keeps it on cruise control until he passes by his fans then he turns up the speed!
 Worn out.

The rain decided to pour after the kids finished racing but before trophy time.  Taylor was NOT leaving without the trophy!

This was the "take my picture and send it to Kerry" pose.
We finished off the weekend with wheelchair races in grandmama's rehab room.
I'm pretty sure the neighbors were happy that our stay was brief!
We might have to race in the hallways next time and invite the neighbors to join us!

Chase's Birthday Party

Well, this is the mini-version of Chase's birthday party.  I haven't been able to find my camera (that has most of the pictures on it!) since the party.  I'll be on the search for it today.  In the meantime, these are the pictures I had on my phone!
Dave did a little extra birthday shopping the afternoon of Chase's party.  His fancy wrapping job involved Chase closing his eyes while he pulled it out of the bag.
 It was a win!
Because you can never have enough jerseys.
The kids had a great time playing wiffleball in the gym.  There  are more pictures to prove it somewhere!
 The cake.
 Singing to the birthday boy.
Taylor spent most of her time playing tag with Isaiah.
The last picture of the evening with their friends Savannah and Natalie.  Birthday coverage to be continued...

Happy 7th Birthday Chase!

This birthday week has kept me hopping!  I can't keep up!
We did celebrate the big 7th birthday though!

He started the day (6:39 if you can't see the clock!) early by opening a few presents.
Then MeMa showed up with some birthday pancakes!
Taylor and I took Chase lunch at school.  He requested "chicken with bones from Hardees" - odd, I know. Unfortunately, the one we went to only had chicken tenders.  He got to pick one buddy to sit with us at the parent lunch table.
Owen joined us for lunch and then they passed out birthday brownie cupcakes for his class to share.
Back at home, Taylor and I got busy making birthday baseball cookies for that evening.
Probably a little too time consuming to just have devoured by 7-year old boys, but Chase loved them.  I never mind a good sugar cookie myself - probably why I made about 40 when there are only 11 players on the team!

After school but before the game, Bryce and Emmy came over to celebrate.
I was a little slow getting the camera ready for the first at bat.  He nailed it down the third base line.  You can see the first base coach pointing him on to second!
It was a birthday double!  He was proud as a peacock!
When he made it to third he was too cool to smile for a picture.
I managed to get a video of his second at-bat.  Not quite as exciting as the first, but still a good one!
After the game, it was burger night at Marty's for dinner and balloons for the birthday boy.  He had a great day and he still has his party to look forward to tomorrow!
