I'm not really sure all of these pictures are actually from the weekend, but close enough. We've been spending as much time outside as possible!
Taylor would swing all day.
Chase enjoys wrapping himself up like a burrito in the hammock.
Taylor keeps law and order. And fashion.
Plenty of sleeping in from this lady.
More outside.
And more outside.
When Taylor and I went to pick up pizza the other night, a hot air balloon was taking off from right across the street. We watched it lift off - which took a long time - and then rumor has it that it crashed down in a neighborhood not too far from here! Short trip.
The girls had their first ever girl playtime with no boys! They had a blast. Taylor was very happy to take care of Emmy and Emmy didn't seem to mind!
I have a feeling this is a preview of years to come.
One had the cell phone and the other had the keys. Watch out.
Helping Emmy get her shoes on after her nap.
These two found the ipod the other morning and thought it was the greatest thing ever.
We've lived in our house almost a year now and decided it was finally time for a landscaping makeover.
This was a picture of the house when we bought it.
This is mid-makeover. Dave and my dad pulled out all the bushes a few Saturdays ago. I think there were like 30 bushes buried in there. I told Dave that if he got all the old bushes out, that I'd finish the rest. That was kind of funny. Luckily he didn't bail on me and was rather helpful!
The finished product! We're very happy with the results, which is good, because once the bushes were out there was no turning back!! I think the new look makes the yard look more open and makes the house seem a little farther off the road.
I want a dwarf weeping cherry tree for the far left but they have been hard to find. I considered going back to dig the one out of our old house, ok not really, but I wish we had taken it with us! For now, there is a dogwood there but that might change one day.
Now we're working on the yard. We have more weeds than grass, but at least they're pretty green for now. One step at a time.
We went to Bryce's t-ball game this week. It was quite entertaining. That is Bryce making his way to first base.
Chase and Taylor giving Bryce the pre-batting pep talk.
What could be better than playing in the dirt?
Taylor had her ballet pictures this past Friday. She got to wear her recital costume. Little did I know that the straps were just for keeping it on the hanger....oops. We got them off before the real pictures!
All the girls in her class were supposed to wear their hair half-back and curled. I was pretty proud of our work here. I"m not one for doing hair and she's not one for sitting still!
She was loving the curls though, and was happy to show them off!
The complete look - official pictures should be back in a few weeks.
We helped host a baby shower for our friend Ingrid (on left) this weekend.
My favorite part! I made 2 trays and 1 made it to the shower. Maybe it wasn't that bad, but I totally couldn't tell you how many of these things I ate yesterday!
Taylor was happy to help with the wrapped gifts. She also volunteered to babysit!
I over compensated for the lack of pictures at the first game for sure!
Ready for the big kick-off. It was a good game - Chase managed to score a goal, so he was happy!
High-fives.
Team picture time.
After soccer at Aiden's birthday party. Taylor can't wait for Emmy to be able to play along with her. She's getting close! Bryce is over this afternoon and Taylor asked when can Emmy be old enough to come too!
The birthday party gang!
Registering for kindergarten! Dave pointed out that as fast as these first 5 years of Chase's life has gone, we only have twice that much more time with him then he'll be 15. I promptly told Dave to hush! Not thinking about it.
Grandma and Grandpa Edwards came for a visit this past weekend. The weather was most cooperative for playing outside.
Chase has been asking to go watch Taylor do ballet but her class is smack in the middle of his preschool day on Fridays. Since we had company I decided it was a good day to skip school and go watch his sister. He told her she looked pretty in her ballet outfit and did good dancing!
And if you're skipping school then you might as well go to Chuck E. Cheese, right?
Chase informed me that he is "too good for this little kid basketball game now."
Taylor cashed in her tickets for some cool shades.
Only thing better than seeing Chuck E. is hearing the ice cream truck coming when you get home. Skipping school might have been too much fun. He had to go on Monday even with company here - can't go crazy!
Taylor has become her own photographer these days. (ahem, Megan?) I had about 35 extra pictures on my camera from her this time.
Cracker Barrel breakfast on Saturday, it's good to have tasty traditions.
Throwing some pennies in the fountain.
Chase managed to work in a bowling trip since he had to suffer and go to school on Monday!
Not sure what everyone was looking at here?
Bowling trip is never complete without a few minutes in the arcade.
I love that the guns were color coordinated.
We opened up pool season with Bryce and Emmy last week. Taylor was excited that she and Emmy have almost matching "toodies" to wear this year.
This was a couple of weeks ago - it was the first ice cream truck siting of the season. Unfortunately, the behavior that day was sub-par and they were left looking from the fence.
Last night the ladies headed out to Spirited Art. We, amazingly, all left with something we created that was suitable for hanging up! It was a good time and I'll certainly go back, if for nothing else than the crab cake and cheeseburger sliders.
Finally, I'm not even sure what to call this, but it's Taylor in her own little world. Most people don't get to see this side of her very often but it's certainly there!!!
