We got back from Cincinnati just before 6pm last Sunday. By 7:30pm I was back in the car to pick up Dave and his fellow travelers that were stuck on their broken down bus about 45 minutes from here. After I got back home I decided I didn't want to get in the car again for a long time.
By Monday, I had changed my mind. We had the chance to go to the beach and I say you should never pass up that opportunity! It was a good decision.
The ride there wasn't so pretty. We rode down with my parents so that we could ride home with Dave when he got there. The van was a touch crowded! My dad WAS driving until he got banished to the passenger seat for taking the "scenic route" a.k.a. missed an important turn!
We made it there though, and Taylor was excited that our room had bunk beds.
Chase would stay in the water all day long.
Taylor is more of a shoreline girl.
She also decided her name had one too many letters in it!
Chase said writing his name is so last year.
Back to the beach. I'm glad the kids like the beach almost as much as we do!
Dave made it down after work on Wednesday. Chase really did try the boogie board this time. It was pretty successful too.
Taylor pulled her boogie board around like a dog on a leash, just not in the water!
At least she was happy.
My finest sand creation to date. Don't ask what it is!! It's a race car, of course.
More of the beach crew.
Eating the "best ice cream ever" according to Kerry.
Talking to Bryce on the phone and plotting out a sleepover for the moment we get home.
Never fear, Max was never left out of the fun.
No trip is complete without putt-putt.
The happy golfers.
We've been to this putt-putt many times before and each year I've taken a pic of the kids at this spot.
A look back to Fall 2011 compared to now.
Enough pictures, back to golfing.
Playing with Chase's new toy while he wasn't paying attention.
No fear - Chase will jump right in this year.
Trying to catch a crab. Notice Kerry is hiding behind Chase.
Out for a walk.
And go-carts to make the trip complete!
Taylor checking out the competition.
Serious racing.
Finally a classic vacation photo. Dave in his work clothes, Taylor attacking Chase, and Chase so focused on his video game that he has no clue what's going on. Good times.
Only 5 days til the next road trip!
